Lark

    Ahhh! Scarby!

Monday, April 9, 2007, 10:39 AM CST [General]

We finally got there! and suddenly I remembered what fun - and what a challenge it is to keep up with Queen Pandemonium!  *grins*

But it was so grand to see so many friends, to take in again all the sights and sounds that are Faire!  The day was cold and my choice of going Scottish was just right... all the skirts and layers certainly kept me warm!

*happy sigh of relief*  'Tis Faire Season once more!

    Finally! Faire is Here.... BUT!

Saturday, April 7, 2007, 12:20 PM CST [General]

Oh, please don't tell me I am not a serious rennie because I am not at opening day at Scarby!   *grins*  I have already done one faire with a hundred degree spread and earned my stripes!

It is snowing here...  the first day of faire...  the day before Easter, by the gods!!!!   and I don't have the winter faire gear that I once did!   *grins*  But I hope to be out there tomorrow... once I dig out all my skirts... and I mean ALL!   I know how the Scottish women stayed warm!!!

But it is finally here...  Faire... *sighs happily*  snow or no... all is better with the world now!

    Looking Forward

Thursday, March 22, 2007, 07:35 PM CST [General]

Yesterday, I had a wonderful honor to be introduced to a young man who is very serious about his Irish heritage and the music of that people!  My roommate's son brought Jacob over for us to meet - and I knew great things were coming when he showed up with a guitar and three whistles!

We jammed for over five hours! and shared our original music back and forth.  What an awesome future Irish and Celtic music has with young musicians like Jacob coming up!  Oh, and he is a Bard in the SCA as well, so I might finally get out to an event with that group! Yay me!

Other than that, I have had my lil nose hard to the grindstone, working on recording and editing tracks for a CD of my own.  After an internet radio show on St. Patrick's, I have been bombarded with requests, so the project is ON!  It is a re-adjustment, since the other members of Rowan Moon are not about for harmony and all, but - I will prevail!

    Faire Time Cometh

Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 10:30 AM CST [General]

Well, my birthday has come... and it is now officially Spring! Scarborough Faire is not far behind!

I am really looking forward to it this year, although I know I will only be able to make a few weekends. There is so much new music to share with you! It is hard to sit here and wait, but I will be patient - or try to be!

By the way, for those in reaching distance of Fort Worth, I have recently started going to MacHenry's pub on Magnolia in Fort Worth for session and open mic. After talking with the Barkeep, Ryan, I found that they have been moving away from celtic music because we haven't been there! Or if we have been there, they don't sell as much beer and such. Now that just doesn't sound like us...!!!

IF we start showing up and basically reclaiming it as a celtic pub, then they will get our music back regularly. Just to give you a heads up, Battlefield Band will be there in April... now that is quality celtic stuff! We need to show up as strongly as we can... AND they do not mind Garb... as long as we are not armed! (It IS mundane Fort Worth, after all)

Queen Pandemonium and the Lark say... Come on Down!!!! (message me if you need more information... *grins*)

    Moving Day is at Hand!

Tuesday, March 6, 2007, 08:40 AM CST [General]

Ah, now... There is a memory!   "The plow has come early this year!!!!"   and this wee Lark is moving her house to the "lee of the stone!"

After today, seek for her at Velic's, and though she will be tired for awhile as she arranges her new nest, she will be happy to sing and share new music at the drop of a suggestion!

She is SO looking forward to a wonder-filled Faire season!  Huzzah!

Now...  looking at my options here... "Insert Video?"   Hmmm.....  *grins*
